Article 1 :

The National Center of Sports Medicine and Sciences (CNMSS) is a state Institution of an administrative nature, character constitution with civil status and financial autonomy and under the jurisdiction of the Youth, Sports and Physical Education Ministry.



Article2 :


The purpose of the CNMSS is:

To undertake medical studies and research with a view to guiding and motivating the young to participate in physical education and sports.
To develop the study of all practical and theoretical questions pertaining to applied medicine, physical education and sports with physiological methods in order to improve the competence and performance in sports.
To define the anthropometrics and functional norms of the young with a view to exploiting them for the needs of physical education and sports.
To carry out preventive and curative periodic medical consultations for the athletes.
To observe the evolution of the athletes in competition with reference to the results of the examinations carried out by the CNMSS.
To encourage collaboration and co-operation between Tunisian and foreign doctors in different specialties to better develop the sector.
To carry out examinations of evaluations and counter-evaluations relating to physical education and sports.
To scientifically and technically control all the units of sports medicine in different districts of the country and in different higher education institutes of sports and physical education under the Ministry of Youth, Childhood and Sports.
To ensure continuous training of medical and paramedical staff.


Article3 :

Because of the medical provision given by the center to the national sporting elite, the CNMSS receives a legal indemnity from insurance companies, which are under contract with the General Sports Commission, in accordance with the contracts established to this effect. The service rendered to other athletes, to elite athletes and foreign sports teams, has a counter value fixed by joint decree of the Ministries of Finance, Public Health and Youth, Childhood and Sports.
