To ensure good nutritional supervision of the young
Tunisian elite athletes, the CNMSS has put at their disposal a dietetic
department directed by a doctor of nutrition and two qualified human
nutrition technicians.
The dietetic department is responsible for:
Dietetic consultations:

Anthropometric exploration (weight, height, fat percentage).
Diet investigation
: questionnaire on eating habits.
Evaluation of the
nutritional value thanks to "nutristart" software especially created
for athletes.
Nutritional education:
nutritional recommendations are adapted to each athlete in order
to follow a balanced diet and avoid bad eating habits.
Inspections:
Control of the hygiene and nutritional quality of meals prepared
for athletes.
Recommendation of balanced diets according to the nutritional requirements
of the athletes.
Training of the catering personnel in nutritional hygiene and principles
of cooking methods
Setting up of technical instruction sheets illustrating methods
of producing meals according to nutritional standards.
