This unit is under the responsibility of a doctor of the internationally classified sports in handisports who works full-time with the CNMSS.

It concerns all the athletes with a physical, mental, visual or auditive handicap and belonginig to the national elite.

The doctor responsible ensures:

the classification of the handicapped athletes.

the regular care of the athletes concerning the private clinic plans, radiological, biological, dietetic and vaccine follow-up.

the curative care for diseases or wounds occurring at the time of training or competitions.

carring out of various tests of evalution of the muscular and cardiorespiratory functions of the athletes in laboratories and in the field.

The organization of seminars and training courses in connection with the classification of the handicapped athletes, the psychology of the handicap.

Development of research tasks concerning the sports for the handicapped people.
